Unique Features of this Examination:
Tension free examination. Fully voluntary in character.
The only national level examination testing students in theory and experiment.
Individual's own assessment at all India level.
Carry awary the question paper both part A and part B.
Solutions in Printed Form are provided to centre In-charge for each examinee.
Single question paper for all BSc I, II and III students with separate national merit.
Last Year (2008) Question Paper & its Solution for every centre registered for NGPE 2009.
ELIGIBILITY: Students of BSc I, II and III (Pass, Hons. or Integrated) are eligible. (Any one who has already passed BSc. is NOT eligible)
QUESTION PAPER CONTAINS:
Part A: 25 Multiple Choice Questions. Any NUmber of options (1,2, 3 or all 4) may be correct. Credit is given only if all the correct otions are marked (6 marks each; Total 150 Marks)
Part B1: B1 to B10; Ten Short Answer (5 to 6 Lines) Questions (5 Marks each; Total 50 Marks)
Part B2: P1 to P10; Ten Problems (10 Marks each; Total 100 Marks)
CERTIFICATE AND AWARDS FOR BEING IN:
TOP 10% at Each Centre: Certificate
TOP 1% at State Level: Merit Certificate
TOP 1% at National Level: Merit Certificate + Book Prize and Following
*TOP 25 WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR APPEARING IN NGPE PART-C EXAMINATION - 2009 (an examination in experimental skill) FOR FINAL SELECTION FOR GOLD MEDAL AND SCHOLARSHIP (Max. 5 In Number) worth RS.5000/- per year for persuing MSc (Physics). TA is paid and free lodging is arranged.
*TOP 25 WILL HAVE ELIGIBILITY FOR AN INTERVIEW FOR Admission in Post-B.Sc. Integrated Ph.D. Programe in Physical Science 2009 OF S N BOSE NATIONAL CENTRE FOR BASIC SCIENCES.
